Install a Trading123 tool on NinjaTrader 8
Every Trading123 indicator and strategy installs the same way — as a NinjaScript add-on. Here's the whole process.
Before you start: make sure NinjaTrader 8 is installed and you can open the Control Center. You'll also need the download file from your purchase confirmation email or account. Don't unzip it — NinjaTrader imports the .zip directly.
Don't have NinjaTrader 8 yet, or running an older version? Download or update it free from ninjatrader.com (opens in a new tab). Our tools are built for NinjaTrader 8 — we recommend keeping it on the current release so everything runs as intended.
1. Download your file
After checkout you'll receive a download link (and instructions) by email. Save the NinjaScript add-on .zip somewhere easy to find, like your Downloads folder. Leave it zipped.
2. Import the add-on
Open NinjaTrader 8. In the Control Center, go to Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On… Browse to the .zip file you downloaded and click Open. NinjaTrader imports it and shows a confirmation when it's done.
3. Restart NinjaTrader
Close NinjaTrader 8 completely and reopen it. This makes sure the newly imported tool is fully loaded and ready to use.
4. Add it to a chart
Open a chart for the instrument you trade (for example NQ or ES). Right-click the chart and choose Indicators… (or Strategies… for an automated strategy). In the list, find the Trading123 item, select it, click Add, then OK.
5. Configure the settings
Each tool has inputs you can adjust for your instrument and style. The included PDF manual and training videos cover the recommended settings for each product — start there, then fine-tune to your taste.
