The concept
What is a fair value gap?
A fair value gap is a price imbalance left behind during a strong, impulsive move — a zone where buying and selling didn’t fully overlap across three consecutive candles. Markets often return to these gaps to “rebalance” before continuing.
Futures markets are highly mechanised and heavily algorithmic. High-frequency algorithms drive index futures like the E-mini S&P and E-mini Nasdaq to constantly seek out these precise imbalances to balance market liquidity, which is why price so often drifts back into an unfilled gap — treating it like a magnet — before moving on.
Traders use unfilled FVGs as high-probability zones for entries, targets, and stop placement. This indicator finds them for you and keeps them on your chart until they're filled.
